The 8 principles for choosing a welding positioner

There are many features should be considered when choosing a welding positioner. Such as burden weight, centroidal distance, and eccentricity. The capacity is also important. Besides, We should also consider easy operating, convenient welding, etc. So what principles should be considered when choosing a welding positioner?

welding positioner

1.Weldment applicability principle: Construction machines have various shapes of parts. Therefore the welding requires a different positioning method. So we should choose the positioner according to the part’s shape.

2.Welding easy principle: The positioner should have the ability to make every welding seam to flat welding or ship welding and avoid horizontal welding or face-up welding. So the welding quality is guaranteed.

3. If you choose a positioner to weld circular seam you should consider the rotating speed according to the bevel. This speed should be within the positioner’s speed range. Besides, you should also consider the stability of the platform. Whether it’s stable enough for the whole weldment.

4. If the weldment has a very big size you should consider the overturning angle (tilt angle). See whether the overturning angle can meet the requirement of best-optimized welding, etc. When an overturning angle touches the weldment you’ll need a bigger space between platform and ground. Therefore the whole welding process is assured.

5.Easy operating principle: You should choose a positioner that is safe, reliable, accessible, lower operating height, and compactly designed. So it’s easier to find a space in your place for the positioner and convenient for the worker. If the weldment makes the welding height too high the worker can operate by blocking up or you may consider adding a hydraulic lift platform to adjust the height.
